Velocity measurement with SpeedFlow 2.0-Pipe

Careful material transport


For the production of hygiene products, the required fibre material has to cover long conveying distances. Too fast conveyor speeds cause a high loss of material, because the fibre material turns into dust. This dust development results in less yield at the end of the process as well as damaging the filter systems.
Due to this problem, the manufacturer searched for a velocity measurement without material contact to ensure that the specified conveying speeds were not exceeded and to guarantee the required careful material transport.

The solution

The SpeedFlow 2.0-Pipe sensor is designed for continuous velocity measurement of solids such as granules, powders and dust in pipes. The sensor is manufactured according to the existing pipe diameter and can then easily be integrated into the process.
It can be installed in any type of transportation (free fall, pneumatic air flow, pneumatic dense flow, transport over inclined plane) and has no built-incomponents in the flow.
The measurement is completely material independent. The application area starts at a material speed of 0.75 m/s.
